November shopping

Today was my last day (out of 3) off so decided to treat myself to some good stuff. Actually wanted to buy the new call of duty black ops. But since it isn't released yet i went for Medal of Honor.
Scored the TIER 1 edition... don't really know yet what that means ^^ but will figure out soon. What i do know is that it includes a Beta Invitation for the new Battlefield 3. Not really a battlefield fan... but i still remember playing battlefield vietnam. Driving around in a tank with some good 60's music on. The good shit! The last battlefield i ever played was Battlefield 2142. I was a great concept but i got bored to fast from the running around to capture the posts everwhere. Also i find that the weapons weren't to balanced. And since that particular Battlefield was made by the same people who did this Medal of Honor game... (DICE) i am still curious about the outcome. Its suposed to be the "comback" of the Medal of Honor franchise. I really hope so because Allied Assault on the pc was awesome. The other game is Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War II. Not to long ago (8 years or so) i was crazy about Warhammer. (will post some about my warhammer soon). I think i was quite good at modeling and painting for my age. And all these painting gave me an advantage in painting the tiny pilots of my gundams:P haha. But back to the game. I have played Dawn of War 1 but didn't own it... so don't remember much. Check out my photo's and i'll get back with a review of some sorts;) GREETZ

Japan 2010 Day 2

Today it was time for my favourite place in the world, Akihabara!
But we first had to refill our energy on some some nice breakfast. Good thing is Shinjuku is filled with restaurants and such all over the place. Sushi, Tempura, Izakaya, Udon, Ramen, Korean food... it had everything. we went to a place that served cold noodles and a thick cold soup not sure if it was udon...
but it was the first time i used the jidouhanbaiki (vending machine) inside a restaurant. you buy your desired ticket at this machine and with this ticket called a kippu (goes for all tickets) You hand this ticket over to one of the chefs and in 5 minutes you get your freshly cooked noodles. Because of my language skills i did not really look at what the buttons on the vending machine said so i just pressed something:P. I took a 600 gr. of noodles portion^^ how bout some strong breakfast anyone? I finished it up nonetheless and it was lovely! As we left i said to one of the cooks: Gochisousamadeshita which means thanks for this godlike meal, (always said after eating a meal.) This is also one of the places i will not forget and will definitely return to next year, but more about this restaurant later;)

So we were off to Akihabara. We left from Shinjuku-station with the JR Sobu line. Which takes 18 minutes and costs 160 yen. When we arrived i could already smell the good atmosphere of Akihabara. I remember going here 4 times on a 12 day trip to tokyo ^^.
We first went for something to drink which was the coffee/milk drink. I love these.
allright i will leave you to check out some pics about akihabara.

Outside of our hotel the orange place across the street was the local post office, which also had 2 ATM's that worked on our maestro pass.

A look towards Shinjuku downtown.

These were the actual ATM's that worked with our dutch bank pass. They say that every 7/11 shop also has an ATM that works with maestro based passes but they didn't work with mine... hmm glad we had one across the street.

Our hotel as seen from outside the post office. The room we stayed in was 711. And was situated on the left of this picture. The view out of our window wasn't all that great because we were looking straight at the mens room of the building next to it...

This is the place where we had breakfast.

And this was our breakfast... it was so delicious.... i really miss this now ^^

My friend is also a cook. I know him for about 9 years now. He also liked the japanese cuisine very much!
Me and the vending machine behind me. Apparently i chose the 600 gr. of noodles:P just look at the size of that bowl!!! I was so stuffed afterwards i almost couldn't walk. But it was worth it!:D

On track 13 wating voor the Sobu line to Akihabara

Arriving in Akihabara.

Promotion for a tiny radio controlled car. We saw them everywhere:P almost bought one because they were rather cheap.

These were called humping dogs. A usb stick with kinda humps whatever you stick it into.

Plamo models of Break Blade inside the Kotobukiya shop. I think this is my favorite mecha series after gundam. I was planning on buying them but it was only my second day in tokyo so i kinda took it easy that day. They are rather expensive compared to a High grade Gunpla. Which is the same scale... ah well i bought them later on anyway;) so i will review them some time later.
A link to Break Blade official site, and a trailer on you tube here!

also check out the intro. I love it: Click here for the trailer

Some lovely scale figures

Love the ecchi'ness here^^

Some great mod on a Zaku MG. The Radar on its head was actually spinning and its mono eye was lit up.

A small piece of heaven:P

First shop we entered and it took us almost 4 hours to get out of it. ^^

The advertisement and signs on manga, anime, games, etc are everywhere i love it

If you ever feel like having a tough decision then try choose your drink at one of these vending machines^^

Backstreet's of Akihabara

Maids everywhere

This must be one of the things that drives my heart:P the gundam cafe is a place to eat and drink stuff shaped and named after gundam's and characters. The line outside around 4 o'clock is rather big... so i just went for the gundam yaki! and some souvenirs. I will return here on another day.

Hmm gundam shaped waffles. Filled with red been curd, or ham/cheese and some other

Night time in Shinjuku. First we'll drop off our load then go for some food.

My profit of my first day Akihabara again^^. some T-shirts from cospa, a lovely nendoroid, some gundam chop sticks and coasters, and my first dakimakura cover. Also i bought the cd of high speed boyz, and a blu-ray of Gundam unicorn episode 1. (gotta buy a blu-ray player soon...)
This dakimakura cover is from the anime Hatsukoi limited. I really like it. Its about some high school students having their first love.
This was our hotel room. very cramped... but comfortable

The bathroom was awesome to. The mirror was heated so when you take a shower it didn't get foggy.

Going for another izakaya... wasn't that great as the other one though...

Some nice anago. (eal)

The yakitori was nice though ^^

Love the cocoon shaped tower:)

Somewhere beneath the tracks of shinjuku-eki.
So day 2 has been a long one allready. And was kinda suprised i didn't buy that much after all. Beter luck next time;) stay tuned for day 3
